Holiday
Train Show
There were already lines around
the block before doors opened
for the 28th Annual Holiday
Train Show over the Thanksgiving
weekend. Scale Rails
continues to make a tradition to
see the trains and learn about
model railroading from local
experts.
Generations of families
attended. Many young
attendees fell in love with
model railroading after
attending the show. "We
love it and the show is great.
We like the big train layouts the
best."
Scale Rails worked for months to
prepare for the Holiday Train
show. We hosted more than
100 vendors at the Araba Shrine
location and opened the layout
at the Depot for visitors.
The Vendors weren't there just
for sales. One little boy,
who only had enough money for
one car, could not decide
between two cars. Dan the
Train Man gave him the second
car and said Merry Christmas.
The boy was thrilled.
Many children attended with
fathers, mothers, and
grandparents. A father and
4-year-old boy won the raffle
layout.
Scale Rails of Southwest Florida
is an organization dedicated to
promoting and encouraging the
art and craft of model
railroading by preserving the
history, science and technology
of rail transportation.
Our holiday train show is a fund
raiser to allow for free model
railroading clinics from January
through March plus keeping the
Depot open during the year for
visitors. Look in the
upcoming weeks on the
ScaleRails.org website for the
clinic schedule.
