Winter Clinics
Every winter Scale Rails of South West Florida conducts clinics which are open to the Public. These clinics
are held at our clubhouse, the Depot, starting at 10:00am and lasting about 1 - 1 1/2 hours on Saturdays, and are free
of charge. Clinics, which are conducted by club members, cover many elements of model railroading and are intended
to introduce people to some techniques for doing various aspects of modeling. Many of our members got their start by
attending these clinics.

New Fund Raiser for Scale Rails
I have registered Scale Rails of Southwest Florida, Inc. as participant in Goodsearch.com and Goodshop.com as a new source of funding to us. This works very simply.
As a computer user who searches and/or makes purchases on-line, you have an opportunity to increase the revenue flow to Scale Rails by doing what you already do and at no cost to you. First you must register with Goodsearch.com to designate your favorite Charity (I recommend you choose Scale Rails of Southwest Florida, Inc., of course.) When you do an on-line search, use Goodsearch. When you make an on-line purchase, use Goodshop to get to the online merchant.
GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo, and watch the donations add up!
GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall which donates as little as 1% to as much as 37% of each purchase to your favorite cause! Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, ebay, Macy's and Barnes & Noble have teamed up with GoodShop and every time you place an order, you’ll be supporting your favorite cause. This is so easy because you just keep doing what you already do and money flows!
Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter Scale Rails of Southwest Florida, Inc. as the charity you want to support. Click the button that adds Goodsearch toolbar to your browser (its painless and fast) so you always have the search tool as your preferred way to search the internet, designate Scale Rails of Southwest Florida, Inc. as your favorite charity, and search to your hearts content. And, be sure to spread the word!
Need to do some Christmas shopping? Go to http://www.goodsearch.com/goodshop.aspx, designate Scale Rails of Southwest Florida, Inc. as your favorite charity, and then select on of the many on-line stores listed (it even shows the % of purchase to get's donated) For example, Best Buy is 1.5%, HP is 2%, Apple is 1%, Nordstrom is 1.5%, and Williams-Sonoma is 2%. So get busy stimulating the economy and helping Scale Rails at the same time.
Program Update:
I am
forwarding this message from Good
Search/Good Shop, and asking each of you to
click on the link to download the Good
Search tool bar. Then enter your favorite
charity where noted on the tool bar. My
favorite is Scale Rails of Southwest Florida
(N. Fort Myers, FL). If that is your
favorite also, please enter it exactly as I
have stated it so that it is recognized by
Good Search. Then when ever you use the
search feature (which uses Yahoo search) a
penny is donated to our club. Also, when
ever you shop on-line, using the Good Shop
part of the tool bar, a donation of a
percentage of your purchase will go to the
Club. This does not cost you anything at
all.
Please take advantage of this opportunity to
enhance the revenue stream to the Club
without having to do anything other than
what you already do on the computer.

Greetings!
This article focuses
on our new
toolbar.
This software, which takes just a
minute to install, allows you to
support your favorite cause even if
you forget to go to our site first!
This is a real game changer in both
the ease of using our site and
amount of money your cause can
earn.
Here's how it works...

1. Download the toolbar at
http://www.goodsearch.com/toolbar/
2. Search the web directly from the
built-in search box. Each search
generates a donation (about a penny
per search) for your cause!
3. Shop online as you normally would
at any of our 1,300+ participating
stores including Gap, PetSmart,
Dell, and Staples. When you're at
the store's website, our toolbar
will automatically light up
displaying the percentage donated
and any available coupons. With
our new toolbar, your purchases will
generate donations even if you
forget to start your shopping at
GoodShop!
Please
spread the word as we expect that
this software can increase your
donations five times or more! Here
is a sample email to use (please
feel free to make it more
personal)
Every time you shop online at your
favorite stores you could be saving
money and earning a donation for
"Your Organization Here."
Our new toolbar, developed by
GoodSearch & GoodShop takes just a
few seconds to download. More than
1,300 top stores including Apple,
Best Buy, Gap, PetSmart, and Staples
are pitching in and will donate a
percentage of each sale to our
organization. There's no extra cost
to you and you may even may even
save money as the merchants are
providing us thousands of
money-saving coupons!
The GoodSearch toolbar also includes
a search box which is powered by
Yahoo! Each time you search the
web, about a penny is donated to
us!
There's no easier way to help (your
organization). Please spread the
word!
Here's a link to the toolbar for

N-Scale Layout
The Club has finished
rebuilding our N-scale modular
layout so that it meets NTRAK
standards. It is set up in
the front room of the Depot.
Basic scenery is finished, but
lots more is needed.
Member Dan Cermak has built and
donated to the Club two 6 foot
modules with standard and
intricate switching track, as
well as lots of buildings.
He also has built two basic end
pieces. These modules are
now fully functional and sceniced.
Dwight Sedgwick led a project to
create a switching puzzle layout
attached to the main NTRAK
configuration. The scenery
and buildings were just
completed. The NTRACK team
is now working to complete two
more six foot modules over the
next few months.
